African Mahogany, also known as Khaya spp., is a wonderful alternative to using genuine, or Honduran Mahogany.
We have on hand some of the most lovely back and side sets; and they all have wonderful grain patterns that are consistent and appealing in color. The picture listed is extremely representative for any of the sets we currently have available.
Large enough for a dreadnought, this back and sides set are ideal for the serious guitar builder that doesn't want to compromise on tone, quality, and looks.
We personally go through each set to make sure they are just perfect for building.
If you still prefer to use Honduran Mahogany, please feel free to contact us anytime.

This is beautiful wood. Gorgeous grain and easy to work. I am making both classical guitars and ukuleles with it. I have found that TCS has the best tonewood prices on the internet and the quality is amazing. I have used their Honduras mahogany as well for back and sides. Highly recommend.
